Some photos we snapped in Southampton on Tuesday.
I ring Jo, the co-ordinator. She tells me that they want me in on Monday next week for pre assessment and on Tuesday for the admission. Given that I have a long journey she is suggesting they ask me to go in on the Tuesday for everything. I have to ring on Monday to find out. In the interim there should be a letter. She says: “Yes they are going ahead with the operation.” I had a feeling it was in doubt. There had certainly been a doubt in my mind!! Had I not rung up today, I wouldn’t even know.. why am I the last person to be told anything?
It is a relief to finally have a date, though now that it is imminent I am feeling jittery. I am inspired by this little saying by Hafiz: “Though the way is full of perils, and the goal far out of sight, there is no road to which there is no end: do not despair”. Amazing what you find in a book of cycling adventures….
